Rainbow Lake Lodge is a completely private cabin home on its own spacious lot on a lake in Willow, Alaska. The living area is on the second floor giving guests a panoramic view of the surrounding birch tree forest and beautiful Rainbow Lake. There are two bedrooms upstairs each with a queen size bed and a downstairs bedroom with two twin size beds. There is a full kitchen and the bathroom offers you all the comforts of home. In the summer there are three docks in different locations along our 1,000 feet of shoreline which gives our guests the opportunity to enjoy the sun as it moves across the sky. We have a short walking trail which winds its way through the property passing our flower and vegetable gardens ending at our gazebo. Our cabin has two large decks which overlook the lake. Our neighbors on the lake are mainly here on the weekends so if you stay with us during the week you might have the lake mostly to yourself. We have no neighbors that are visable across the lake from the guest cabin which gives you unobstructed views of the Alaska wilderness. There is no public access to the lake so only property owners have access. The lake varies from absolute silence most of the time on week days to busy with watercraft enjoying the long Alaska days during the weekend. We only have one rental on the property so you will not have to share your cabin with any other guests. The home and location are beautiful but this is a remote cabin, not all dishes and silverware match, the yard isn’t perfect, the cell reception sucks, etc. Please make sure you are ok with that before booking. • A non-electric bunkhouse with extra/private sleeping is available upon request and for an additional $50 on your reservation. This one bedroom, one bath cabin is perfectly situated close to the water for wonderful views from the living room, expansive front porch and floating dock. Sit for hours on the porch just watching the loons swim by and the fish jump. Take the canoe or paddleboat out for an early morning paddle on the glass-like lake. Fish for trout and land-locked salmon. Watch for the muskrats that live under the birch tree or paddle across the lake to search for beaver lodges. There is a short walk to a peaceful lake. This is a 16x20 open cabin with classic round logs, with a loft. It is most comfortable for 2-3 adults and 2 kids but can sleep up to 5 adults. With kids, there is a steep ladder to the loft but railings in the loft. There aren't railings on the porch. The bedroom is small and has sliding barn-style doors for privacy and a pillow top queen mattress. The ladder to the loft is in bedroom. The LA-Z-Boy sofa is in the main living space and pulls out for one guest to sleep on. The loft has thick pull out pads for kids or adults. There is a pack and play for young kids. Adults will not be able to stand up in loft. Full bathroom with a shower and toilet and door for privacy. The kitchenette comes with a microwave, coffee maker, small refrigerator/freezer, 2 burner cooktop, pots and pans and utensils. All bedding and linens provided. Currently, there is no internet. Some guests can get our wifi signal on the porch. There is a smart tv and dvd player. Enjoy the outdoor games: Kan Jam Frisbee, KUUB, Bocce, badminton or Molkky. There is also a hammock set up in the trees. In the winter, guests can bring skis, snow machine and/or ice fishing gear. Some nearby ski trails and ice fishing on the nearby lake. Heated with an oil Toyo stove. The lake is 100 yards away and stocked with rainbow trout. Guests can use the campfire pit for a cook-out, or fire up the grill for a BBQ. We built our home in 2006. We are southern exposure on the beautiful lake with 6 mountain ranges to view. So many of our friends love our place so much that we decided to make an apartment downstairs so others could enjoy the lake and views. We have trumpeter swans who visit us every spring and fall and sometimes during the summer if they aren't raising a family. We see Bald Eagles very often and moose and sandhill cranes. Dancing Loon is all about family fun and togetherness! Go out the back door and you are one step away from Alaska's greatest recreational paradise. Boating, fishing, winter snowmobiling, or just enjoying a fire on our floating barge. If the weather isn't favorable, there are hundreds of DVD's, a pool table, a foosball table, and an air hockey table located upstairs in the game room. Downstairs there are books and games for most ages. This home offers an activity for everyone in the entire family! We are equipped to accommodate groups up to a maximum of 6 guests. We do not permit special events, BBQ's, parties, etc. to be held at the property which exceed our maximum group size of 6 people, this includes daytime guests not staying at the property. This policy will be strictly enforced for a variety of reasons ranging from respect for our neighbors to the limitations of the home's septic system. IMPORTANT POLICIES TO NOTE: No more than 6 PERSONS are permitted on the property at ANY time. No Exceptions. NO PARTIES or group gatherings permitted at the property. NO PETS of any kind. NO SMOKING of any kind inside the house. We utilize exterior security cameras to ensure compliance with our occupancy policy. Guests who violate the above policies will be subject to additional fees and cleaning charges and may be immediately evicted from the property depending on the severity of the violation. Dancing Loon is decorated in Alaskan art and features custom painted walls. The walls are strategically painted to help with Alaska's summer nights. The darker colors minimize the daylight and help quiet the house at night. Each bedroom has blackout shades for your sleeping comfort. The Cabin Bedroom (King) is downstairs. The Master Bedroom (King) and Polar Bear Room (Full) are upstairs. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cutlery, plates and cookware. The adventurous can bring out the Fondu for a real change of pace. There is a washer and dryer available for your use and a full size freezer if you need to freeze your fish before returning home. We can sleep 6 guests in beds. Dancing Loon is open year round with a plowed road leading directly to our doorstep. You will have full access to the house and grounds. Life vests are stored in the dormitory. We do not provide all sizes of vests. Guests utilizing self supplied, powered watercraft are requested to observe a "no wake zone" a minimum of 50' from the dock, idle only within this space.

There is a massive deck on the upper level with fantastic views of the lake and mountains. Outside we have a fire pit and hot tub on the lower level. We also have lake access and private deck/dock. The lake is fed by springs with no public access. View breeding Arctic terns, Bonaparte's gulls, common loons and their babies, red neck grebes, mallards, common snipe, bald eagles, greater yellow legs, spotted sandpiper, least sandpiper, and numerous passerines in addition to a plethora of transient species. Otters, muskrat, beaver, moose, fox, black bear, brown bear, wolves, and other small mammals frequent the lake area including trumpeter swans, geese and sand hill cranes. Fish population is limited to rainbow trout and land locked salmon. Fresh water mussels dominate the lake sediment.

It's home to many birds, otters and fish (mostly rainbow trout) and in the fall (sept) salmon will spawn along the shorelines.

We have 35 acres of land and enjoy the lake with only two other households, a rarity this close to town! The guest house is fully equipped for your long or short term stay, just bring your luggage. The guest house features blue mountain pine T&G vaulted ceilings, fully equipped kitchen; second floor deck with gas grill; bedroom has a comfy king sized bed, walk-in closet; full size bathroom and washer & dryer. We also have a queen sized air mattress should you need extra sleeping arrangements. We have a fire pit down by the lake to enjoy a relaxing evening; a canoe, kayak and paddle boat are available to use as well. Closest grocery & liquor store is 5 miles down the road. We have coolers available for use should you try your luck at fishing.
